Hello! I'm Christoffer, a dedicated game programming student at Futuregames with a passion for creating immersive and exciting gaming experiences. Currently, I'm focused on refining my skills to turn my ideas into reality and contribute to shaping the future of the gaming industry. Join me on this exciting journey!
My passion for video games led me to explore how they are created. When my gymnasium offered a Unity course in 2021, I was eager to dive in. Before that, my programming experience was limited to home projects in Scratch. Working with Unity, I discovered that problem-solving, something I've always enjoyed in math, quickly became my favorite aspect of programming.
In 2021 I successfully completed my Programming 2 course by creating a top-down Deer game using the skills I had acquired throughout the Unity course. The objective of the game was to collect power-ups while avoiding falling obstacles.
Six months later, to graduate I had to create a diploma project in IT. I decided to make a top-down car game. This project was more challenging as I had to design the track in Blender and create VFX for wheel smoke and skid marks both of which were new to me. Despite the difficulties, I was proud of the final product, which received positive feedback from my teachers and friends. Their encouragement increased my passion for game programming.
Following my success with these projects, I decided to pursue my passion for game programming by enrolling at FutureGames, where I am currently expanding my programming knowledge.
Throughout my first year, I had the opportunity to work on three additional game projects, each of which expanded my skills in areas such as team-based programming, mobile game development, and working under pressure.
I am excited to continue growing my skillset and tackling new challenges as I pursue a career in game programming.
These are my first two game projects: the Deer game, developed after completing my Unity course, and the Car game, which became my Diploma Project for graduation.
The Car game was a significant upgrade over the Deer game, featuring a main menu, a custom-designed map, respawn mechanics for when players veer off track, and a clear win condition. This project allowed me to build upon what I already knew while introducing more complex elements of game development
Since my first 2 projects I had workd on 2 notible projects:
The first one being Yurei's Light which was the f
my first collaborative project, where I worked with a team to develop a horror survival game
The focus was on creating a compelling sense of vulnerability and immersion.
The second being Daredevil which was the first ever multiplayer mobile game I had worked on where the focus was a lot on optimization and performance.
These projects represent significant improvements from my earlier work, benefiting from collaborative efforts and the ability to use my previous experience to improve their overall quality.
My Latest project is Witch Hunter, a wave based action game with a heavy focus on animations.
This was my first ever project in Unreal Engine,
where I adapted to using Blueprints and C++ after previously only working with C#.
This project provided me the opportunity to explore new tools and techniques in game development, pushing me outside of my comfort zone and allowing me to learn and adapt. It also enabled me to take on a leadership role, where I took the initiative when needed.
It significantly expanded my skill set and deepened my understanding of animations and Unreal Engine.
